My beloved father, I have never been to this day, thought that I would have lost you and would be in the present position to speak to you the epic tale. In my eyes you did not grow old and time did not pay you, with my own eyes I always saw you young.
I feel the need to thank you publicly for what you gave me, and especially for giving me the surname Papagiannopoulos, which has a heavy and honored story. You received it and handed it over to me insolently and honored, adding to you additional gifts and virtues. The surname Papagiannopoulos was used by our family when, in 1565 AD. Ioannis Litinas in Lagadia, Arcadia, was ordained a priest. John Litina was the descendant of Peter Litina from Thessaloniki, who in turn was the descendant of Luke Litina who in 1181 AD received with golden coin the 1/12 of Crete as a feud by the emperor Alexios II Komnenos and the which refers to the history and archaeological finds as the prince of Byzantium. Members of the Papagiannopoulos family in Lagadia received the nickname Deligiannis and usually the Greek people are known with this nickname. According to the genealogical tree produced by the National Research Foundation, you are the trios of Theodorakis Papagiannopoulos - Deligiannis, the last Moraigianni of the Peloponnese, who is honored as National Class A hero.
You have never exploited your gentle ancestry, you did not show it, nor did you take pride in it. You walked through your life as a simple Greek citizen. Even the fact that your father was a Ph.D. in law school at the University of Athens in 1896 AD. you did not reveal it to me until I decided to sort out the documents and the material of our libraries six years ago and found myself in front of our family tree that Mrs. Eftychiia Liata had written at the National Research Foundation and the multitude of papers that I was given members of the Greater Lithina family with the family coat-of-arms kept in Museums of Greece and Italy. I found myself in reports that Pukeville did in his work about the kindness of our family. You as a humble and simple man have never used your Kindness and moved humbly into your life by honoring our name more. As an officer of the Greek army, you fought in gang warfare defending the legitimate government of Greece and throughout your life you served Greece with self-denial and honesty. I emphasize the word honesty because you served in key positions of the Ministry of National Defense and not only did not misuse money, but you tried to save money in favor of the Greek State, reducing unnecessary expenses. From the positions you served throughout your career, you've been trying to help those in need and right and without ever accepting gifts. I am referring to what I heard from third people, because you never told me the good things you did and you never prided yourself on what you offered to others. When you served as a commander in Northern Greece, a teacher who served as a reserve officer and who was relatively recent with a wasteful woman, he picked up wealthy household goods and fell out financially. Then his alleged friends and fellow officers of jealousy and envy came to you and instigated him and asked for the army to be expelled by an army officer because he was shaming the House because his creditors were asking for their money and had come to beat him and send him injured in the hospital. You had chosen and preferred to follow the way of the eagles and advised me to do the same in my life. That principle has given you a glimpse of it and I will try to follow it, following your example.

But I will mention that you were bitterly displeased when you were unfairly discharged without the necessary procedures of judgment being made annually in the Greek Army because you did not consent to signing in illegitimate documents to cover the then Minister under your signature.
You did not abuse public money, nor did you abuse the power you had from the post of General Manager of the Office of the Minister of National Defense, nor did you ruin the power. You got into life with a wife (literally the word) my mother with whom you were very dear, you were complementary and acting as one as an existence.
After your retirement, you worked with me and with the erection of our residence in the Municipality of Zografou, which you built with personal work (with your own hands) something that may have caused the jealousy and the envy of some people to whom you you have never held any evil, and you have been telling me until your death that I will not hold harm to those who are hostile to me, or to me. You followed the saying of the crucified "Father, let them be, that thou wilt know what thou art" (Luke 23:34). How can one now doubt that after such a career, that Christ will not already have you in his arms, which is of love.
